When Dolby needed to create animated branding elements for their Atmos product line they turned to Swordfish to bring the brand to life. Dolby provided us with five uniquely designed orbs that represented each vertical. We deconstructed each sphere to reveal the core elements and created rich, atmospheric experiences utilizing heavy particle simulations. The final animations currently play in cinemas, homes, and on mobile devices around the world.
Audi Connect is a revolutionary new connected car experience bringing real-time data directly to the driver. Our friends at Venables Bell & Partners came to Swordfish to help with the product launch for Audi USA. With a well crafted script provided by VBP, we created “Beautiful Data” from concept through completion, relying on beautiful data visualizations to explain the benefits without ever seeing a physical car or user interface.
When Maxon decided to stun the content creation world with the introduction of a revolutionary new integration between Cinema 4D and Adobe After Effects, they turned to Swordfish to design content to show off the new functionality. Our only direction was to use footage from the Danny Way documentary “Waiting For Lightning”, provided by Bandito Brothers. Can you say “dream project”. Besides the finished spot, hours of tutorials detailing the shot breakdowns were delivered to both Maxon and Adobe for use as advanced training material.
To kick off Corning's latest fiber platform Corning ONE, ad agency Doremus approached Swordfish to create an animation to tell the world about their unique new product. Running with a clever script provided by Doremus, Swordfish crafted a seamless journey through a stylized CG environment to explain the benefits of the Corning ONE platform.
After spending months coming up with their unique vision for a smart watch, the industrial design ninjas at Box Clever partnered with us to design the UI, UX, and motion patterns. With Box Clever's CAD files in hand, we created final 3D renderings and animation of the device with our UI's in context. We're super-excited to see this project come to fruition, and are looking forward to the day when we will be wearing this beautiful timepiece on our wrist.
Swordfish collaborated with event production company Plumbago on the show opener for John Fogerty’s world tour. After raiding Fogerty’s vault we had a plethora of film and photographs to work with. The result is a design-driven editorial montage to fire up the crowd and kick off an amazing night of songs by the legendary musician.

While it's true that Mauchi is devoted to his craft and has a fearless approach to his projects, it is also the primary cause of his hair loss. His latest film, “Cicada Princess” is a heartfelt gesture on life played out by miniature puppets. Narrated by Stephen Fry, It is currently playing around the world and has taken home two prestigious awards at Oscar qualifying festivals. He feels at home working in both traditional and digital mediums marrying technologies in service to his unique sense of creation. Over the past fifteen years Scott Kravitz has worked as a lead animator on projects for Disney, DreamWorks, Universal Pictures, and Sony. His memorable stop-motion work on United Airlines "Heart" won an Annie Award for Best Commercial of the year. Most recently Scott directed the animation team for Neill Blomkamp's features, “Elysium” and "Chappie". Swordfish is extremely honored to bring Scott's animation experience to the next stage in his career as part of our directing team. - READ MORE
